OUR TEAM APPROACH
Your Advisory team consists of 3 members plus you. Each team member has an expertise in a specific area as well as a deep understanding of the overall admissions and / or job advisory.
At INTRVU, we match you with an Engagement Leader who will provide you with authoritative advise and serve as your mentor throughout the process. The Engagement Auditor will provide feedback throughout the process to ensure that you get the right insights from multiple experienced perspectives. Finally, your Relationship Manager will ensure that you receive the highest quality of service.
Your Engagement Leader is matched with you based on your diverse selection criteria. They work ‘hands-on’ with you and provide expert guidance throughout the process. The Engagement Leader is your primary point of contact throughout the engagement.
Your Engagement Auditor reviews your application documents and provides critical feedback throughout the engagement. You and your Engagement Leader will use their feedback to ensure that your application documents resonate with the target audience.
Your Relationship Manager will continuously assess the engagement process and ensure your satisfaction. When your application is ready for submission, they will do a final review to ensure that you have a polished final product and can press “submit” with confidence!
In order to provide outstanding personalized service, our advisors accept only a certain number of clients per cycle. We make sure that any advisor is handling no more than three clients at any point in time. Please note that many advisors, especially our Engagement Leaders, are in high demand. If you wish to speak with our advisors, please contact us at least 2 business days in advance.
GATED DELIVERY METHODOLOGY
Our services are extremely personalized to help you achieve your admissions and / or career goals. We strive to complete all client engagements within 6 weeks. To that effect, we collaborate extremely closely with our clients in creating application documents. Each document goes through several iterations of internal reviews by 2 advisors before a joint review with the client. This diligence results in compelling application documents that significantly enhance your chances of securing an admit.
The Gated Delivery Methodology ensures predictable delivery of high quality application documents at regular intervals (Phase Gates). This approach results in high client engagement, quick turnaround times, better alignment of application documents with target audiences’ expectations, and increased throughput.
Numerous contextual factors affect your admissions / career outcomes. The nature of competition and the extent of the preparation ultimately determine your success. Contextual Advisory™ is our proprietary methodology based on best practices derived from hundreds of client engagements. This methodology ensures a close fit between applicants’ profile and the company / academic institution’s expectations. Using this methodology, we build comprehensive candidate profiles using a structured approach to create compelling application documents that resonate with the decision makers at universities or companies. This methodology and the supporting tooling helps identify skills, qualifications and traits that make you stand out in the competitive landscape.
As an admissions, internship, or job candidate, you know your profile best. By asking the right questions, we uncover your strengths and shortcomings. By using our structured methodologies, proprietary tools, and insights gathered from developments in the admissions and job markets, we deliver our unique expertise. We view each engagement as a collaboration between our advisors and clients. Throughout the engagement, you will collaborate closely with our Engagement Leaders, Auditors, and Relationship Managers. You will not only receive compelling application documents, but also understand how to tackle emerging application scenarios on your own.
TRANSPARENCY – FOUR EYES PRINCIPLE
The Four Eyes Principle is an internal control that requires that any deliverable is controlled (reviewed, cross-checked) by a second advisor, usually the Engagement Auditor or the Relationship Manager, before we release it to our client. The second pair of eyes provides an element of security. The Engagement Auditor looks at the complete collateral with fresh eyes, spots things the Engagement Leader may have missed, and picks up on structural, stylistic and language issues.
In our advisory work, we leverage the Kanban technique based on Toyota’s approach to manufacturing and engineering. By visualising the scope of work, limiting your work in process, focussing on the flow, and practising continuous improvement, we make the collaboration process extremely transparent, while simultaneously giving you at-a-glance visibility of the status of your work in progress, and optimise the engagement effectiveness.
APPLICANT JOURNEY MAPPING
Applicant journey mapping is a process of creating a visual representation of a applicant journey. Creating a visual representation of your journey will help you to put yourself in recruiters’ shoes. That way, you will be able to better understand their needs, wants and fears in different phases of their journey. You will learn exactly which type of content you should use to at every step of applicant journey to successfully present your personal brand across different channels. You will also know which channels work best so you can better allocate your application efforts. As a result, you will be able to target the right organizations, faster and cheaper.
The Contextual Mapping process involves clients drawing from their own backgrounds, personal interests, experiences and knowledge and identifying connections between them. The exercise encourages self-reflection and is a useful tool to get to know our clients and identify their value proposition. The activity is designed to help clients to begin to see themselves within a wider context and to begin recognising where their own strengths sits within it.
I found the ‘Contextual Mapping Process’ to be a really useful exercise. As someone with really wide ranging interests I think it helps me to see how those outside influences effect my personality. This was extremely useful in deciding what to focus on in my motivation letter for my internship applications.
MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, COLLECTIVELY EXHAUSTIVE
It is a known fact that recruiters and admissions committee personnel spend no more than a few minutes reviewing your application. This means the onus of making your message stand out rests on you. To tackle this challenge, we analyse each candidate profile using the MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive) framework. Using this framework, we segment clients’ profile attributes into distinct compartments, thereby grouping information in a logical manner. Each compartment contains one and only one message, which makes absorbing information extremely easy for the readers. By avoiding information overlaps, we reduce the complexity of application documents, while simultaneously delivering a deeper understanding of your qualifications. Through the collective exhaustiveness principle, we ensure that all important aspects of your profile have been captured and all possible options considered. Our MECE approach yields an elegant and tight application documents that are not only brief, but also easily appreciated by a diverse target audience base.
An integral part of Six Sigma quality initiative, DMAIC is a data-driven strategy we use in our engagements to continuously improve client outcomes. DMAIC is an acronym for the five phases that make up the process:
Define client outcomes, challenges, activities, opportunities, engagement goals, and customer expectations.
Measure application and engagement performance / throughput.
Continuously Analyse the engagement and application process to determine root causes of bottlenecks and / or rejections.
Improve conversion by addressing and eliminating the root causes.
Control the end-to-end process and future process performance.
