Q: Why are German universities ranked low?

In short, funding. In Germany, the state really pays the biggest part of the bill. This means that universities have comparable amounts of funding that makes ranking based on this factor incorrect. Universities use this money to pay for professors, campus facilities, equipment, etc.

Q: Can I work part-time as a student?

Students are allowed to work part-time for 90 full days or 180 days in a year. A graduate is allowed to stay in Germany for 18-24 months depending on his / her course to look for a job after graduation.
